I have been a web designer/seo consultant since '99 and I think I know what this book reviewer means. Most of my clients were terrified at the thought of having to understand the web - in any capacity. In fact the way I started to get more business was by creating a really simple pamphlet that explained things I was taking for granted, such as ‘what is a browser and how does it work’ – the abridged version of course. Anyway I owe my business’s success to a self-made business person who finally set me straight by saying something like “Young man, this might be easy for you but it scares us over 50 crowd to death. And we’re the ones that you’ve got to convince!”

Writing that simple little pamphlet let me to more business than I dreamed possible because as one woman who owned an online gift basket business put it “I feel empowered!” Now that’s gratifying! People fear what they don’t understand and the Internet represents the biggest piece of scary technology imaginable to most people. If you’ve reached even just one reader who feels like he understands the Internet thanks to your book, you should be congratulated.

By the way, I just ordered a copy. In all honesty I don’t know how much value the tips will have (since I’ve been doing this for six years) but if I can learn something more about how to help my clients understand the Internet, it’s worth many times its cost.

I think we will never "understand" the internet completely.. or at least the search engines.. Well unfortunately I'm not in the real estate business, otherwise I'd take a look at your book.
