Google Maps Update: Save & Share Favorite Places
Google Maps users can now keep track of favorite their places and share those with their contacts.
“Starting today, you can create lists of places, share your lists with others, and follow the lists your friends and family share with you—without ever leaving the Google Maps app (Android, iOS),” Google Maps product manager Zach Maier wrote in an official blog post.
Creating a list of favorite places can simply be done with a click of the new “Save” button. The list can be shared with others through SMS, email, social networks and popular messaging apps.

RankScience Founder Says Software Will Replace Human SEOs
RankScience, a software-as-a-service platform providing “automated SEO changes,” can replace human SEOs, its founder said.
The RankScience platform aims to improve website SEO through continuous optimization and data science. It automatically runs thousands of A/B testing and makes tweaks to the website’s HTML to improve its rankings.
“Our product is the only piece of SEO software that actually does work for you,” founder Ryan Bednar said in an interview with TechCrunch. “So instead of creating tasks for engineers or product managers, our software actually handles the work for you, and executes for you.”
The company is currently seeking more funding.

YouTube Rolls Out Mobile Live Streaming + Super Chat
YouTube creators with at least 10,000 subscribers can now use Mobile Live Streaming and Super Chat, two capabilities launched recently.
The launch aims to “put the power of live streaming in the hands of hundreds of thousands of talented creators, giving them a more intimate and spontaneous way to share their thoughts, lives, and creativity,” YouTube’s official announcement said.
Like regular YouTube videos, mobile live streaming videos are searchable, can be found via playlists and recommendations, and protected from unauthorized use.
Meanwhile, Super Chat is a way to monetize live streaming.
Fans watching a live streaming video can pay to send a chat message, which will be highlighted through color blocks. The message will be pinned on top of the chat thread for five hours or more, depending on the amount paid.

‘People Also Ask’ Box in Google Gets More Prominent Placement
Google recently moved its “People also ask” section to a more prominent position in the search results.
Industry observers noticed the change just recently, and found that the new placement does not show all the time, but is mostly seen in queries that also trigger a featured snippet.
Whether the change is permanent or just temporary remains to be seen. But it can indicate a future where users can already access deep knowledge about specific topics without leaving Google’s search pages.
