Google+ was launched a few years back, and the social media platform appears to be the one service that everyone who loves Google just doesn’t want to use.
There are many reasons for this, and outlined below are the top reasons why no one wants to use Google+:
1. This social media site serves no social purpose. Unlike its more popular counterpart, Facebook, Google+ isn’t focused on creating social connections. The tech giant has separate apps for photo sharing (Google Photos) communications (Hangouts) and even video sharing (Youtube)—all of which are essential to the social experience. So what is Google+ for?
2. Google+ does not offer unique services. This platform was built with almost the same services as its rival, Facebook. Since there are no new or unique features that would set Google+ apart from the competition, it’s just a redundant service and there is essentially no reason to switch.
3. Google+ is complex and not as easy to use. For any website nowadays, a highly intuitive and easily understood user interface are the keys to success. Google+ does not have these and usually scares off potential users, especially those using the service for the first time.
4. Everyone else is on another social media site. “Social” it the key word in social networking and there’s just no reason to stay on Google+ if everyone else is off hanging out on another website.
