Social media is a medium for people to connect with each other. The key to being successful on social media is to have a good, solid plan, and to consistently follow, measure the results, and alter as needed. Managing your social media accounts can be time consuming and it’s time you could be spending working on your business. When utilized appropriately, social media can help you connect with your customers, build your business, and link with potential customers as well.
1. Identify Your Business Goals
Streamline your business plan and make sure to determine where you want your business to go. Identify the reason why you entered the social media world. Is it to bring more awareness to your brand and reach more markets?
2. List Down Your Objectives
Your objectives must be in line with the S-M-A-R-T standards. Specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based goals often take the high roads and become more successful. One great example for this is if you plan to increase your audience reach to a particular customer base, one S.M.A.R.T goal is to generate 5 new leads a week. Time line is off the essence so make sure to meet and provide results within the deadlines set.
3. Customer Profiling
To become successful in the social media world, you have to target the right group of people. In order to coordinate with them, you have to send out the correct message. If your business focuses almost exclusively on males 18-25, create posts or campaigns specifically for this group. It would be a waste of time to target everyone from 18-65 when your product or service is only intended for a small percentage of that range.
4. Evaluate Competition
Identify your competitors and analyze how they move. Your competitors will have the same age groups and same targets. Ask yourself some questions if they connect to these market on a serious or funny note? Do they communicate in the smart casual level? When selling products, study how your competitors perform in the market. Do they focus on the features, reliability and performance? Do their audience react on their posts? It is also important to use the right kind of social media channel for your business. Expand your network not only thru Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can also turn to LinkedIn for a more professional approach of communicating.
5. Create A Good Content Plan
Always deliver a top notch content to your readers and followers. Your content should not only bring your product to the frontlines but make sure that your readers will get valuable information from this. Use videos, guides, tutorials, tips, and other forms of content to give your customers as much as you can.
