John Mueller stated last month that “PageRank is something that we haven’t updated fro I think over a year now, and we’re probably not going to be updating it going forward, at least in the Toolbar PageRank…”
Here are some of the reasons why:
Google: No more PageRank update
– Google last updated PageRank on December 6 as a result of a change and not to make it more useful.
– PageRank doesn’t have a lot of value, which explains why a site’s PageRank is not changing.
– PageRank may disappear on its own or Google may eventually say it is not worth maintaining.
– Clients should focus on CTR, bounce rate, and speed rather than PageRank
