Mobile device users are typically always on the go. Combine a mobile responsive website with these suggestions to keep them engaged!
1. Keep it short (and sweet)
This applies to desktop users as well. No-one has time to read long introductions. When writing, keep in mind that your audience is short on time, then add a simple and clear call to action.
2. Make it easy to understand.
Add subheadlines to separate different sections, use bullet points, highlight relevant quotes and/or important information. Make your point obvious with illustrations or images.
3. Keep your headlines short.
Use 8 to 12-word headlines that sum up what your article is about.
4. Make sure everything is mobile-device friendly.
Optimize everything. This includes but is not limited to:
- hyperlinks to other websites. As much as possible, link only to websites that are also mobile responsive.
- spaces between icons and buttons. Not everyone has thin fingers.
5. Analyze your audience behavior and use it to your advantage.
Use your analytics reports to research your mobile audience. Find out what works for them and what doesn’t, then use that data to improve your writing style or how your content is presented.
