This question has been asked many times by several webmasters. The truth is there’s no exact answer because site rankings depend on a lot of factors, and some of these factors are beyond anyone’s control. Below are some estimates to help set a realistic timeline for your SEO.
- A brand new website, or one with many issues can take up to 12 months before you can see sustainable results.
- Short-term strategies that can give you short-term results can have a negative effect on your rankings in the long run.
- Try dividing your goals into actions: fixing errors on your web page (2-4 weeks), overhauling content (4-6 weeks), link building (4 weeks), etc.
- Don’t just turn your attention on rankings but instead look more at the overall number of visitors that you get from search engines, and the volume of sales that you get coming from search engine visitors, etc.
- Start with small goals that can be achieved. Aim to get high rankings for very targeted keywords first; it’s better get high rankings for long-tail keywords than for ‘money keywords’ (One to two-word phrases).
